Mod6
These can be informative or entertaining and their use has been wide-ranging and in general appropriate since the feature's introduction with the new software in October 2009. Whilst they are ephemeral in nature (especially as seen on the main forum page) they should still nevertheless comply with the same rules and guidance as would be the case with any other post. These rules and guidelines can be read in full in http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/35-forum-rules/ but for the sake of convenience the main points relevant to status updates are: Rules 1. Please do not post any material that may be regarded as discriminatory, potentially libellous or malicious to any other party. 2. Please do not post unsubstantiated or inaccurate criticism of any individual or organisation. Any criticism should be presented in the same manner as would be appropriate for a face to face conversation. 3. Please do not post inappropriate language or content of, but not limited to, obscene, racist, sexist or blasphemous nature. 4. Please do not post any content that breaches the confidence or anonymity of other members including the administration team. Any breach of the above rules may lead to placing a warning against the member's profile, and/or suspension, limitation or removal of forum access rights. Subsequent registrations will have the same penalties applied. Guidance Don't use bad language, it isn't clever and can cause problems very quickly. Don't use all CAPITAL LETTERS it's considered to be shouting and can annoy people very easily. Don't use TEXT SPEAK it is best avoided if you want to be understood. Don't use the Status Update facility to air grievances about other topic or forum issues (count to ten and use the report facility if necessary). Don't use the Status Update facility to refer to your own topics or classifieds. Politics, Religion and Sex are considered OFF LIMIT subjects, frequently these subject cause friction between people who wouldn't normally fall out with each other over any modelling subject. It isn't possible or desirable to be prescriptive about every kind of update comment, but the admin team will summarily delete any update which they consider inappropriate, and may take further action if necessary.
