A subject which has come up a few times is "What legs do you use ?" - I've posted similar before but couldn't find it so here's a few shots of the legs used on Widnes.

 

Construction, the height is adjusted by the chain, less links pulls the legs together and raises the level, more links drops the level.

Each leg has a baseplate, this gives the lever for the layout, note the legs are hinged at the top.

Red Dog dowels hold the alignment, and coach bolts are used to make the joint
