Andy Y Posted October 11, 2009 Share Posted October 11, 2009 My existing login doesn't work! 85% of existing logins were successfully transferred to this new database, if the login doesn't work you'll need to re-register. All of the old content is still on the old site accessible at http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/ - Due to server loads we may have to periodically lock that area off until we move to a new server this week. I can't access my old PMs. Yes you can, on the old site, and when it's not frozen/locked/broken. Will all of my topics and posts be moved over? No, due to corruptions in the original database it would have been a problem to import that content into this new structure. You can however copy content over into this area if you so wish. Martin Wynne has written a wonderful transfer utility to help do this, it can be found here - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/121-rmweb-transfer-utility/ How long can I access the old site for. The old site will have the ability to create new topics removed from today, replies to topics and PMs can still be sent, probably until the end of the year. After that the site will be locked but still available to read/search for the foreseeable future. The old site will also be transferred to the new server to improve its performance. My activation email is giving an error message. Activation emails may go astray if they happened at the time of a server freeze. Also they may not get sent due to users' email client problems (full inboxes etc). I'm manually activating registrations in blocks at the moment so if you haven't had an email it's worth trying to login.
