RMweb Gold Garry D100 Posted February 21, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 For those that missed out first time round, Evening Star has just come out again. http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?sid=32688 Seem to remember they said it would not be re-released but I think due to popular demand its here again. Doubt there will be a third run.........
Pete Piszczek
Yeah I thought they were going to weather the second batch or do something to make them different from the first batch. The first batch was a limited edition, never to be repeated, insuring they were sold in short order. Be interesting to see if there is a difference in the print or markings, Hattons has not gotten round to photos yet......
ThePipersSon
According to the listing, this model comes with a BR1F tender. I thought it always had a BR1G tender.
RMweb Gold Garry D100 Posted February 21, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 Think it was more limited run than limited edition. I have one and don't recall any certificate. Although I think they did a couple in a special box for the NRM which might have been certificated.
G-BOAF
I'll wait until I see pictures to believe it. Antics is quoting April 15 delivery date and according to Bachmann's website they are not due until april/may, and are not on the recent arrivals list. If it has the incorrect tender it will end up in the bargain bin; she only ran with one tender. My understanding is this was a typo on the Bachmann list. Would be an expensive rectification for Bachmann (new tender bodies all round)! Detailed differences with first batch - shedcode, front step arrangement differed throughout her life. If she is in, then great I suppose, but the railway budget is already strained and the later she comes the better! I hesitated and declined last time, then regreted it as soon as they were sold out accross the country!
RMweb Gold Garry D100 Posted February 21, 2011 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 ........according to Bachmann's website they are not due until april/may, and are not on the recent arrivals list. Does not mean anything, the 105 with SYWP is not on either and is also released today. I sometimes take their web information with a pinch of salt. If she is in, then great I suppose, Not sure why to question if its in stock? Hattons only show in stock when it is....in stock.

Pete Piszczek
This was the first release.I'm not au faix with what tender it has. It is a 1G. The 1F looks nothing like a 1G, even the Chinese factory personnel should be able to tell the two part...
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted February 21, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 A Bath Green Park shedplate and a 'Pines express' headboard would be very fashionable this year
RMweb Gold Colin_McLeod Posted February 21, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 Be interesting to see if there is a difference in the print or markings...... Perhaps it will have a different number or be painted in BR Blue with yellow smoke box front and large logo double arrows on the tender. Where did I leave that coat?? RMweb Gold Downendian Posted February 21, 2011 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 21, 2011 Gary is right, it must be in stock my preordered 92220 was charged to my account tonight. Hattons don't do that unless they've arrived, on display or not on their website. Will look good lined up with my 7Fs. Neil
50A55B
Think it was more limited run than limited edition. I have one and don't recall any certificate. Although I think they did a couple in a special box for the NRM which might have been certificated. They did a very limited batch of 50 for the NRM in a wooden box with certificate. Apart from the cert and box it was just the standard issue item. I remember the inference at the time that this was a one-off run - it will be interesting to see what transpires. Butler Henderson
Bachmann have said they would not re-run a model again in exactly the same livery/number etc but then a simple change of shedcode would make it a different model. This makes 6 different versions possible plus again the same number weathered plus whatever it has carried whilst preserved.
Ceptic
Not a bad price, either, £108* + P&P, compared with Bachmann's present RRP of £147.25 for a plain ol' Black'un. *Hatton's pre-order price of approx. 1 year ago.

Needed a double chimney black'un with a BR1G. Would it be sacrilegious to put black over that green?

Ceptic
Needed a double chimney black'un with a BR1G. Would it be sacrilegious to put black over that green? H'mmm... Seems funny that Bachmann haven't gone for that popular combination. (so far) I.e - Double chimney + BR1G tender, in Black livery Most, if not all, of the 9Fs allocated to the W Reg. and ran on S&DJR rails, were of that configuration. Maybe,.. they're holding back ?.. to reap the benefit of future sales.

They have done it as a weathered Modelzone special, Bachmann sold off the damaged ones at the members day a couple of years back for £50 each. Buying a Standard 5 with the right tender is possibly an option to do some swapping?
G-BOAF
Any pics of this latest release. No retailer pics as yet (and indeed no online retailer that I can see aside from Hattons has them in sock). Be interesting to see what differences there are to the original release. craigwelsh
Thanks Craig., I must have missed out there...Shucks !! I'm not, usually, a one going for limited editions....unless.... Cheers. 92240, there is one on Vectis at the moment OO Gauge Bachmann 32-850Z (Limited Edition) 2-10-0 BR black 9F Class Loco No.92240 complete with certificate No.117 of 504 produced for Modelzone, this is a weathered edition, condition Excellent Plus to Mint in Excellent Plus box. It was £125 new I think when you could probably have bought a 9f and a Standard 5 for that price and done the swap!
