Etched Pixels
Still pondering .. Saturday unfortunately is the football (Wales v England) in Cardiff so the neanderthals will be out in force ruining it for the majority of football folk and the next London riot, sorry I mean protest seems to be scheduled for 11am so it's all going to be busy. Scale7JB
I be around on Happisburgh. I will proparly say hi to you beast if i see you hope you get down south ok. Yours Samuel Bennett P.S Feel Free in saying hi Looking forward to seeing Happisburgh again, main event of the show I reckon, though such a shame that it will be the last outing being a big GE man.. Have you seen West Mersea that we are building in Scale7 ? JB.
Redkiterail
I seen some info about it. Happisburgh main part is going but the goods yard and I believe some parts of the factory are staying with the club.
Scale7JB
Here is the thread for West Mersea from the old forum... http://www.rmweb.co....&t=6237&start=0 Will there be a new Happisburgh ? JB.
Redkiterail
There is talk of a new 0 gauge layout but check the MRC website when there is more to say on that.
Scale7JB
Which MRC would that be ? Are the group not tempted by Scale7? We could make West Mersea modular JB.
Redkiterail
The Model Railway Club Club Website and for a scale 7 layout not my place to suggest it but I do a few members who do scale 7 and quite a number that do 0 and small number that do many. Indeed, the advice being generally issued is avoid Central London/Westminster/West End on Saturday completely. There is a legitimate Trade Union organised march to Hyde Park starting at 11 but unfortunately all the indications are that a large number of anarchists, nutters and loons are on the way with talk of occupying Trafalgar Square and apparently they want to burn down Oxford Street and high street banks or something. The usual band of stop the war protesters are also apparently planning to make their mark and all Police leave has been cancelled, they are expecting serious trouble. Ah well, we can stand on top of the hill at Alexander Palace and watch the plumes of smoke rise over central London over a pint I suppose...

The Nth Degree
The lights are all on across the park. I can imagine the frantic setting up, fault finding and swearing at the electric genie over there. Looking forward to going to my first show. I'm hoping there'll be some nice second hand N stuff there and lots of tutorials on how to do, well, everything! If there are any official or unofficial RM drinks on Saturday I'm all ears. See you there!

RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted March 26, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 26, 2011 Just got back, exhausted. (Also wanted to get back across London before the loonies and the long arm of the law started kicking the crap out of each other!) I got there a bit earlier than planned, about 8:30 and the queue outside was already there!! Are there people queueing to be the first to the Bachmann Scrum three days in advance like that chap in Oxford Street who was three days early for his IPad 2 last week? Good selection of layouts, good selection of specialist traders, huge amount of money spent at Replica Railways stand, Bachmann returns bargains were nowhere near as cheaply priced as they have been but two 47/4's for £100 was not too bad and I managed to resist a petroleum 37/4 for £53. Bit too many of the overpriced second hand tat shifters though. Cabinets of forthcoming attractions (MPV, Class 350 Desiro, EPB and Hornby's VEP et al) look very tasty indeed... Catering was appalling, slow and pathetic as per usual. Notable at lunchtime that the vast majority of people sat in the cafe seating area were eating their own packed lunches!! Overall, not bad, not bad at all.
