GoingUnderground
....it's easy to forget that you went into the swamp to drain it. However, just found this web site http://www.voba-medien.de/html/vorbild-krokodile-schmalspur.html which is full of Kroks. Lovely stuff.
pointstaken
Lovely, great to see them. Anyone on here fancy wiring up the overhead set-up with a Krok on the turntable? Dennis
Ohmisterporter
Thanks for that link Keith. Reminds me of a holiday we took in Switzerland, the country is like a giant train set. Very neat, well kept, and refreshingly clean after the UK. Geoff.
GoingUnderground
Yes, I agree with your views on Switzerland. They seem to have had the same problem as us with local freight services as most if not all goods depots seem to be closed an the only freight you see is container traffic at least in the SBB area, I have still to get to RhB territory. You might be interested to know that the Blue Krok Nr 412 in the first photo had con rod trouble earlier this year and was beyond economic repair as the RhB felt that 2 Kroks were enough. So 412 was stripped down for reuseable components and the remainder has been cut up so I understand from the Grischun forum. However a unique Krok is being brought back to life. The Bo-Bo BerninaBahn Krok Nr 182 was the only one and is being restored in Poschiavo, see www.club1889.ch , and hopefully will be back in working order for the BerninaBahn's 100th Celebrations. EDIT 14-12 BST: Seeing the RhB and Bernina Kroks side by side at St Moritz or Pontesrina next year really would be something special.

I imagine the freight movements in Graubunden will still be heavy - RhB is so important as seen this morning in Filisur It's a shame about 412 but, as you say, a newly restored Bernina Krok helps to offset it. Will be in Davos next July and visiting St Moritz, so might see it if its on the rails.

He did have a suberb collection of standard gauge Continental electric locos though. Andy's the one in the blue tee-shirt.
