Lady Victoria Colliery

After several false starts, a job that keeps me away from home a lot and a loft conversion that is nearly finished, it's time to restart my Lady Vic modelling project. To keep things simple, and because one of the new radiators was packed with the ideal length of ply, I'm going to start with the section of track that runs past the signal box.

This is where I need help.

I've been working from the photographs kindly posted here, but haven't come up with a set of drawings to work from to make the signal box. I haven't been able to do them myself from the photos, I'm not very good that way, and my research hasn't come up with any sources. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers?

Thanks

Hi Shed,

I have only found 3 close up photos of the signal box - one is already on here, the other is in a private collection and there is another on the RailScot website.

there are another 3 or 4 that show the box in the distance.

I am trying to convince the owner of the collection mentioned above to make it available to the museum.

If that happens - there will be several photos that could be of interest to you - not just the signal box either.

Have you explored the Canmore Archive for the site?

Have you asked the North British Study Group what they have?

As noted above - the RailScot website

Hope this helps!

Thanks

ps....

Interesting - Lady Victoria Pit does not appear on the list of signal boxes for the NBR!

Edit - just found anoteher photo!

Scottish Modeller,

Thanks for the suggestions, one of the photos gave me an idea to help with dimensions.

A quiet day at work has let me produce these

I'll try this in card when I get home and see how it looks next to track. All comments welcome.
