Yep, my subscription copy was there waiting for me today when I got home from work and I've much enjoyed reading it this evening - in fact, I reckon this issue is a corker, with proper first-hand yarn of life with proper locos, such as the informative article by Martin Walker and the evocative account by Ben Wyvis.

The modelling section has a nice BR Blue Saltley-inspired layout, which particularly appeals to me.

All in all, more good stuff from Traction.

cheers,

Keith

PS - in the 'TPO' pages Peter Paye seeks the year for his pictures of Spalding specials hauled by 33s, taken on Saturday May 12 - if the editor's comment is correct (as I am sure it is), that the date for the pictures has to be between 1979 and 1984, then the pictures must have been taken in '84, as May 12 was a Saturday that year - this observation is yielded by one of the bizarre but useful functions of my mobile phone, using the 'go to date' in the calendar gives the day for any date after 1/1/1980!
