Road / rail bridge at Inuyama

Fascinating when trains and road vehicles share the same space, as opposed to the more common arrangement of keeping them separate.

There's a list of combined road/rail bridges on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_road-rail_bridges

Similar ones that come to mind are the one in Czech Republic at Bechyne (linked from above) and the new swing bridge connecting to the Baltic island of Usedom, Germany (http://www.acorp.uk.com/Assets/usedom.pdf).

Most combined bridges have a separate road/rail deck either side by side or one above the other. The Connel bridge in Scotland had the rail track running alongside the road on the same deck.

I recall driving over a few shared bridges when we went to New Zealand a few years ago, mostly the rail lines were disused but this one was still in dual operation - fascinating experience, slightly unnerving (although I've read only 1 train per day usually!) and quite a bumpy ride!

Sadly it seems from the wiki link it got replaced in 2009 so that's another one removed from the shared deck list... :(
