MrWhippyO
The curved part of roof left, is it in the centre of the coach? James
Pete Harvey
James The roof section that is left is set towards the Gaurds end of the carriage and is not central along the length of the carriage. Pete
MrWhippyO
That's what I thought, thank you. James
MrWhippyO
Sorry to keep asking questions, but where did your spare insulators on the non-panto end come from? Thanks, James
Pete Harvey
James The insulators on the panto and the non panto end are from a couple of lima class 87's I had spare with holes drilled down the centres not easy to do through nylon. Guest oldlugger
Absolutely terrific work Pete! Extremely neat and nicely executed. All the best Simon
Pete Harvey
I have added a few bit to the DBSO can anyone spot what they are? (there are no prizes) I still have the last two carriages to decide what to do with mainly whay livery to paint them in and repaint any ideas? I'm using the Keen system for coupling the carriages and all three carriages are running on Bachmann B4 bogies on the Airfix chassis. Pete
MrWhippyO
You've added the pipes and the plough on the front, also the grille over the horns. James
Ian Fisher
Window Frames? cant make out if they are on from the start of the conversion though...
Pete Harvey
Yes James and yes and no Ian. No frames but thick plastic blinkers With frames and thin blinkers. Pete
MrWhippyO
What are the small parts sticking out from either side of the left and right windows on the front for? James
Pete Harvey
James I have not a clue that will be a good question for Mick to answer? Over to you Mick. Pete
RMweb Premium newbryford Posted May 7, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 7, 2012 No idea! But mine has them. It's also got another couple of bits - can anyone spot the difference with Pete's version? Pete is not allowed to enter...... EDIT: B*gger - just realised drivers footsteps are missing Cheers, Mick

Guest Popcod
Two excellent DBSO models there gents! Starting to make me wonder about NR stock as well... Pete, can I ask about what you used to make the frame surrounding your rear middle window? I'm hoping to scratch build a diesel loco this year and the window surrounds were one of (the many!) bits I'm foreseeing will run me aground. Cheers, Chris
MrWhippyO
I am currently bogged down with my mentor, it's a huge learning curve! Just got my ladders on the ends fitted, but they need a wee touch of glue just to hold them! The white bits of tape were to mark out which windows needed filled and to hold the body together while the glue from the cut 'n' shut set.
43179
What are the small parts sticking out from either side of the left and right windows on the front for? James I believe they were added to change the airflow over the windscreens and stop the wipers getting blown off - This didn't seem to be a problem when the gangways were still fitted - the 'blinkers' only appeared after the gangways were taken off tfn Jon
MrWhippyO
Ah right, thanks for that Always helps when you can still use your wipers! James
