Catte Lane - BR Boxfile layout - Sentinel 0-6-0

Having spent most of today being able to do some modelling, one of the subjects has been another low relief structure for Catte Lane.

This is about 80% finished

It's a Lilliput Fireless 0-6-0, something a bit different that came to me from a good friend, johnb on here. It's not destined for Cattle Lane, although it would fit if I felt like giving it a run.

Show went very well thanks. The layout was right at home at this exhibition!

The latest addition to the loco stud, Heljan 05 from Hattons' sale (as seen in Box 4 pic), ran smoothly and reliably too.

Was able to stir myself into action today and make a bit of progress. I have cut the holes for the next box, no 6.

Now the idea of having to join two individual tracks every time I set up doesn't really appeal, so, my solution will be to fix boxes 5 & 6 together permanently and the treat them as one unit. The two tracks can then be laid from the point as single lengths, thus ensuring both electrical continuity and stability. The single road leads to the fiddlestick and the siding terminates in box.

As for scenery, as yet all I know for certain is that the siding will be infilled and surrounded by a concrete pad. Plus it will be fenced off, with, hopefully, a working gate.

Thanks for looking.

Longmire,

Kind of you to ask. There has been more movement and here are some pics.

The through line has been cut to length and is currently awaiting the glue (PVA) drying. The buffer stop is a Ten Commandments stone cast one that has been painted and weathered and has a Dart Castings BR lamp added.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

I have taken advantage of a day off whilst the 407 was getting its MOT to get some work done on the dual boxes ahead of the layout's trip to Howden show on 23 & 24 of this month.

I have today:

1. Built up the area that will be 'concreted' to track level.

2. Cut the card to fit the areas.

3. Test fitted the in-track grating (Model Railway Scenery's laser cut product)

4. Painted up the wall section for one box and test fitted it.

5. Painted some sky behind where this wall will go.

6. Found an interesting image for a backscene and glued it in.

7. Ballasted a small section of track in front of the buffer stop.

8. Added said buffer stop.

These pics might help.

Thanks for looking.
