37255
I was going to suggest somewhere on MCR metals, but actually on balance I think Mountsorrel looks quite likely!
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 26, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2012 Dart Valley, sorry SDR - having at last done some of their relaying?

Torn-on-the-platform
Dart Valley, sorry SDR - having at last done some of their relaying? A good shout, but are they not back up and running? The scenery doesn't quite look right to be South Devon either... apologies if I'm wrong!

coachmann
I could so easily guess its the extention to Corwen (L.R.) with the Welsh mountains hidden in mist.......
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 26, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2012 I could so easily guess its the extention to Corwen (L.R.) with the Welsh mountains hidden in mist....... Maybe Stu was using painted cardboard in the background and this is really his stealth entry for the 2012 challenge?
stewartingram
Aldwych branch, by the Piccadilly Line LU Preservation Group? I'll get my coat....
roythebus
It looks like the KESR extension by the scenery, but I've learnt the road and know it's not that one.
cary hill
Supplementary evidence to my guess at #6 above http://www.helstonrailway.co.uk/uploads/DSCF0003_013.jpg
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted March 26, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 26, 2012 Yep, Heslton Railway is correct, this is the end ( so far) pushing towards Water-ma-Trout. They have almost 3/4 mile laid, and brake van rides up to this end, then back past the station to the other and back to the station again.
RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted March 27, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 27, 2012 Good to see this progress. Perhaps they'll have a guest steam loco or two in the near future, a small Prairie would be nice!
RMweb Gold Stubby47 Posted March 27, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted March 27, 2012 They did have a steam loco last year, I was told at times there were 3 brakevan loads of people waiting to ride ( at 20 people at a time ). There are a few decent photo opportunites along the line, especially near the two over bridges. They are also getting a 3-car dmu centre coach to provide more passenger transport. Also, whatever happens with Trevano Garden should not affect the railway, including access.
RMweb Premium Andy Kirkham Posted March 27, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 27, 2012 It looks delightful, but the passengers' experience will be greatly enhanced if those trees on the embankment could eventually be cleared away .
