g.wass
I have a 1970,s Brittania with Tender drive 3 pole ringfield motor that I wish to convert to DCC. Trouble is on brush holder seems permanently earthed. Is it a case of removing the brush holders and drilling out the backplate. Or is it more involved. Do not want to get into the remotoring phase as this puts it out of its price worth bracket. the loco runs very sweet now that I have serviced the motor etc. Graham Derby UK

lambretta
Hi, I just about to try fitting a decoder into a Hornby tender drive B17, would you be kind enough to post more details of your method please? GW on the b17 remove the left hand screw on the motor connection and replace with a nylon one job done (the screw holding the plate connection to the bushes )
