RMweb Premium M.I.B Posted May 24, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 24, 2012 I have found an odd Dublo item in amongst my box of unmade kits of small buildings (sheds, huts etc). I would upload photos but I can never get it right. Would love to know what the hut is. It's plastic not metal. About 1" x 1.25" single storey flat/sloping roof with a stove pipe out of the roof. Looks like it would be a turntable operators office more then a linesman's hut because the windows have shutters moulded in the open position. No serial number or anything other than the standard Dublo name on the underside of the roof. From this description, can anyone hazzard a guess what the item is? I've tried googling every combination of Dublo hut, cabin, shed office all to no avail. Many thanks.
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted May 24, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 24, 2012 Sounds like the platelayer's hut, Cat No. 5040 http://img.chem.ucl.ac.uk/dublo/5040.htm
RMweb Premium M.I.B Posted May 25, 2012 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted May 25, 2012 Spot on - many thanks. This one has been extremely well painted - I did suspect that it had and your photo confirms. Quite "continental" for a platelayers' hut - with the shutters etc.
Il Grifone
IIRC it's an SR standard design, but I may be wrong (see below).
