I mistakenly ordered the wrong replacement wheels so mine are staying undersized. Replacement buffers are under consideration, too. Thanks HeavyDuty, I will keep the pics coming. P.C.M Posted February 12, 2015 Author Share Posted February 12, 2015 Well this ones been on the workbench for ages. I did have a break from it for a while then decided to finish it. The roof weathering didn't go to plan so it took a few days to get right. I started by making it too dirty, but after looking at more pics decided it would look better a bit cleaner. After all it was a railtour loco so has to look fairly clean. The loco was used a fair bit during 1986-7 and not always on railtours so did get quite dirty, the pics of the loco during 86 show that quite often the loco would get a quick clean before an open day or railtour. P.C.M Posted May 9, 2015 Author Share Posted May 9, 2015 I have been working on these Parkside VEAs, but before I carry on can anyone tell me if there are suitable whitemetal buffers for these wagons. I have a few in the bits box but none look like the right type. Also on the workbench for some mods is 37284. I noticed my 37428 was sitting a bit high while next to the MK1 stock. As 37284 was already in bits for wheel cleaning I decided to have a go at lowering the loco by filing some plastic off the gear towers. It now sits at the right height, problem is I raised the bogies when I did the model so these need to be pulled apart and re glued and the original height. MJT components do some very nice Sprung wagon buffers, , the ones I originally purchased for my VEA's were 2'1/2" 13" head whitemetal Oleos product code BPO2, which I think originated from Lanarkshire models. Hope that helps Thanks Lee, I have had a look in my bits boxes today as I though I might have had some, what I did find was some 13" metal heads which I have glued into the Parkside plastic mould. I had a look at some pics of VEAs and the Parkside moulding really isn't too bad plus it didn't cost me anything. 37284 is now back in one peice and my 37/6 is now getting the same treatment. Hi Neil, I actually stopped posting on this thread as most of what I was doing ended up on my Llanbourne thread. Recently I have been doing some work on a 7mm class 45 and a VAA wagon which is on my Holmes Road thread. I have also been working on a class 37 and a class 26 in 4mm. I too am interested in the 37 mod . I’m sure you’re aware but just in case, the fan grille Heljan use on the 26 is wrong. It should have only 4 cross braces?
