RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted August 15, 2012 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 15, 2012 The top lines, connecting on the right, are freight only. The bays are for a local, out and back service. Musing over this one, a bit more to it than Spawd Bone Lane - but it will obviously need more space

RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted August 15, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 15, 2012 I take it the goods lines will be worked by train staff kept in an office several miles away? With the points flashing on a remote IECC as the detection hasn't been installed so no correspondence. For those who don't know, the track plan is the current Rock Ferry, Limekiln Lane being the name of a very early predecessor.
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted August 25, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 25, 2012 I took a bit more of a plunge and ordered a good quantity of points, suitable for this or for the fiddle yard if I make Spawd - hopefully be getting some baseboards next month so things may actually start happening. Once the points arrive I will be making a decision, based on how easy I can build a flexible fiddle yard without things getting too big. I also ordered some vehicles for a steel train, an engineers and finished off my scrap rakes (2 off) Sorry to disappoint but this is going to be largely r-t-r, weathered, at least for the foreseeable future. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted August 30, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 30, 2012 Ordered a few more bits, platform edgings for a brick platform and a concrete extension, some Lever Brothers PCAs (I know these are "rough and ready" but they are local to where the layout will be set), and 3 Dapol semaphores ... and some bits to see if my thoughts on some modifications will work (which will be a miracle given I've never seen either the bits or the signals for real!) Hopefully the track will arrive tomorrow and some real thinking / planning can start - down in Saxmundham
RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted August 30, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted August 30, 2012 This looks like it ticks a few of my boxes Is it gonig to be in N scale, as Spawd Bone Lane? Yes, and it's probably going to be in place of S.B.L
flyingsignalman
I take it the goods lines will be worked by train staff kept in an office several miles away? You mean this one? Currently snug and warm (and unused) in Merseyrail IECC (the chunk of metal was to stop it rolling while I took the photos)
Debs.
You mean this one? Currently snug and warm (and unused) in Merseyrail IECC (the chunk of metal was to stop it rolling while I took the photos) I hope it`ll be in use one day soon! I wonder if the Gwynt y Mor windfarm project will bring any opportunities for rail-traffic to 'The Floats'; it`s brought quite a bit of maritime traffic, even in these early days. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted October 23, 2012 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 23, 2012 Now measured my space, 12' X 3' is available, perhaps it's time to start seriously considering the options..
