P Thanks Porcy but the new vac pipes aren't on the website yet, need to do some more casting to build up the stocks again after supplying other traders. Give me a couple of days and we'll be ready for the rush.... Dave Franks.

Colin parks
Hi shibushe, Further to all the other suggestions, there are some very fine components made by Hornby. I use them on my EMUs where appropriate (see attached photo). I don't know if these couplings and vacuum pipes are available as spares, but I would have thought so. Martin_R
Hornby screw link couplings are available in packs of 10 as Item Number HC8053 from various Hornby International suppliers. They appear to be the same coupling as supplied with recent Hornby loco's such as Class 31 and 50. Hope this helps. Martin.

I was able to buy a couple of unwanted Hornby loco bufferbeam detailing packs second-hand in my local model shop. I don't think they would be usable on sharp curves. Also. I forgot to mention the screw couplings have a cranked tommy bar rather than the more common straight one. Colin
Horsetan
If you want screw couplings that you can actually tighten or slacken, then there is only one answer: Exactoscale (about to become a subsidiary of C&L). 11 quid a pair, though... *opens wallet, finds it empty, sighs*

Can the Hornby couplings actually be made to work or are they just cosmetic? Thanks.
Colin parks
Can the Hornby couplings actually be made to work or are they just cosmetic? Thanks. Yes Taz, they certainly work but do hold the stock a scale distance apart. I only use them for cosmetic purposes. They would look mighty fine on the front of a loco as a cosmetic detail if it is never required to run with a train tender-first.
iak
Screw couplings are a minefield so you takes your choice... My take on the subject is to use a mix of Exactoscale coupling hooks and a Masokits etch for screw couplings. The below images show the finished article on a BR Dia. 1/208 van. Strong and they look fabbo - well to me they do
MartinWales
A pragmatic alternative would be to use the Smiths type. Would'nt look as good as Ian's though.........
