Flex Track used as Sector Plate

This is a brief summary of the build thread – my entry to the 2012 Innovation Challenge.

 

I’m proposing to replace a conventional sector plate by a piece (say 20in) of flex track:

 

 

 

In order to facilitate proper registering of the rail ends I soldered thin pieces of L-sections to the moveable end of the sector track and secured the rail ends there to a PCB-sleeper:

 

 

 

This little device is simple to make and to mount and reliable. It works exactly as I wanted. See here:
