Trains&armour
Excellent. You're welcome to post some photos of it on here for us mere mortals to salivate over it.It looks the business to me.I'm sure,no I know , the US army would have used the Kingsbridge branch in the run up to D Day. Ok, here goes, my most recent British armour (to keep it a little bit on topic): The uncropped photo of my avatar (The tracks are the leftovers of my German Marklin layout) Top view Comet, same regiment, but in 1945. A modified and detailed Matchbox kit. front view just to pass the time until the weekend. Edited October 17, 2013 by Trains&armour
RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted October 17, 2013 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 17, 2013 As Rob is teasing us with his weekend announcement I think you should carry on posting the armour! Rob,perhaps a three year step back in history is needed and a visit from General Eisenhower will give you the perfect excuse to build Comet's VIP Saloon and a Super Saloon. The Super Saloon could also be used in your planned "Ocean Liner" train. On the other hand a cheaper alternative might be to obtain a "Montgomery" figure and have him standing on the platform at Brent after buying a day return from Kingsbridge because he was bored walking round Kingsbridge every day. Only joking but, as I'm sure you will already be aware, there are a few pages - pp98-101 in "The Kingsbridge Branch" (Ken Williams and Dermot Reynolds OPC) giving details of some very interesting workings in April and May 1944, with LMS coaches featuring and Monty's LNER 7 coach rake, not to mention some interesting mixed trains. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted October 18, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 18, 2013 I think we all must have cut our teeth on the old Airfix kits. I certainly learnt the art of smearing glue when building an Airfix 1/72nd Spitfire, circa 1955!

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted October 18, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 18, 2013 Rob it's only words unless SWMBO belts you with the frying pan, I got it in the neck today for spending 30 quid in the Railway Shop she sulked all the way home it was great as she didn't say another word till I made her a cup of coffee when we got in she muttered something, I'm now laying low in the office/modelling room hoping she will cook some dining or I will be pressing the button on the ding box later. S*d the ding box, I'd be off out for a proper dinner (Star or no Star)

I think the Finching sisters would say 'Size isn't everything-it's what you can do with it!' I wonder what the recoil was like on Dora? Nothing against Trago Robin-although that building is a bit of an eyesore. Saying that I've had some bargains from there in my time. Cheers, Mark For the benefit of 'Trains and Armour' here's a photo link to Trago Stover: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Trago+Mills+Stover&espv=210&es_sm=93&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=snNhUtCyGOaJ0AXq34HYDQ&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1024&bih=475#facrc=_&imgdii=k7jX_S84V3Y9CM%3A%3BFt9buf-scE_DhM%3Bk7jX_S84V3Y9CM%3A&imgrc=k7jX_S84V3Y9CM%3A%3BHIyf_UbEd9izbM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Ffarm3.static.flickr.com%252F2095%252F5820391694_0298c9ed8d.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.what-to-do.org%252Fattractions%252Findex.php%253Fattraction%253D3631%3B500%3B375 Edited October 18, 2013 by 46444
