Mike T
Hi Guys A laser is no different to any other machine tool in that it can be used to make its own accessories. We are lucky enough to have a spray booth at WFRM HQ and up to last week we had been sort of pointing the exhaust duct from the laser at the fan and hoping for the best. So... a quick bit of CAD work later we have a quick release MDF frame that holds the ducting square on the fan and the workshop is a nicer place to play:-) Regards Mikey
Mike T
Hi Guys Thanks to a tip from Tim Horn we make extensive use of rare earth magnets to hold down materials being cut on the steel honeycomb bed of the laser. In this image you can also see the MK1 corner jigs cut from 3mm MDF and these allow items to be removed and replaced in the same position between cutting actions - a use for this handy facility will be shown in another post shortly. MK2 will be slightly bigger which will better suit the 10mm diameter magnets we now use as standard. Regards Mikey WFRM CAD Monkey
