jwealleans
Visited the 51L/Wizard stand at Doncaster today - luckily I forgot something and went back a second time and this time noticed this forthcoming delight: Looks good. Andrew hopes to have them available at York. Edited May 4, 2018 by jwealleans

jwealleans
Not new products as such, but Wizard Models has just announced the acquisition of the Mainly Trains range, which included LNER fitted brake gear, conversion kits for J71 to J72, etc. Announcement here. jwealleans
Looking at the Wizard Models site today, I note he now has RDEB etches for the 1938 Flying Scotsman triplet set (LNED255) and 1957 conversion for the Northumbrian (LNED255(57)). Steamport Southport
He's also added a few more items from the Mainly Trains range over the last couple of days including the J52 chassis kits (Hornby spacing and scale) and J71 conversion kit. jwealleans
Two of these bad boys landed on my doormat at the weekend. I asked Bill about them at S4N and he did say he'd had a lot of orders, so I can't say whether there is still stock, but now would be the time to ask. MikeTrice
Fox Transfers have introduced LNER coach transfers for "RESTAURANT CAR" and "DYNAMOMETER CAR". Unfortunately as with their "BUFFET CAR"/"SLEEPING CAR" transfers these are too large being 7" over the gold instead of the prototype's 5". Sadly a missed opportunity: https://fox-transfers.co.uk/transfers/lner-teak-coach-branding-76522 If they produced them in 3mm scale they would be about right. This is now going to get confusing. Strangely the "RESTAURANT CAR" transfers also came with completely the wrong size "DYNAMOMETER CAR" printed on the same sheet and to all intents can be ignored (but might give some useful letters for named Sentinel rail cars). The "DYNAMOMETER CAR" transfer they list is actually a smaller version at nearer the correct 4" height but to my mind they seem too wide compared with images of the currently preserved Dynamometer Car and photographs of it in LNER days: https://fox-transfers.co.uk/transfers/lner-teak-coach-branding-76523 Edited May 3, 2018 by MikeTrice
MikeTrice
Just emailed Fox to see if they can be persuaded to reduce the size of the brandings to 5" high. Might be useful if other people do too. Will let you know if I get a response.
micklner
£3.60 each really !!! how do they justify that when a HMRS sheet is £6.50 for a huge number of LNER letters/numbers. If anyone know s a source for the HMRS TT version (if they are still made?) I found a sheet years ago and it is excellent for Railcars etc.
Kubes
Probably because the HMRS lettering was created nearly half a century ago

RMweb Premium Nile Posted May 6, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 6, 2018 Cue more ebay madness! Hopefully Andrew can make some more in time for expoEM or Railex.
Major Clanger
It already is shown out of stock! Now how is a man supposed to get hold of three of them? I put the GC wagon on the website but as "out of stock" so those with previous expressions of interest could see the details, and then place orders by other means. All the pre-orders are now in, so it will be changed to in stock later today, but there are only 2 left from the first batch. More castings are expected in time for Expo and Railex. jwealleans
Two things.... talking to Andrew Hartshorne at the EM Gauge show, the Comet Gresley D134/175 kit is back in stock and there are some Thompsons with round-cornered windows on the way. For anyone who weathers with powders, Lidl are doing this useful looking brush set for £7 this week: Available in a choice of colours of which this is the least offensive. Are they new Thompsons? As if he's doing new bodysides then can you please persuade him to re do the D329 with square windows as the windows are wrong on the corridor side. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/87366-comet-thompson-d329-corridor-third/ Jason
jwealleans
I don't know whether they're new or not, I'm not as au fait as I am with the Gresley diagrams. He posts on here as 'Major Clanger', so you could ask him directly.

The type of corners or the arrangement of vented and non-vented windows? According to the Diagram, which incidentally is drawn with round-cornered windows, the vast majority were noted as being built with square windows. They were the same whether square or round cornered. It should be vent/plain/vent/plain/vent/plain/vent The Comet side is plain/vent/plain/vent/plain/vent/plain http://www.cometmodels.co.uk/modules/viewcatpic.php/9/985 In other words they got the placements of ventilators the wrong way round. Bachmann got it right, but I really want them to match my other Comet ones. https://www.hattons.co.uk/60758/Bachmann_Branchline_34_385_Thompson_3rd_class_corridor_in_LNER_teak/StockDetail.aspx Jason Edited September 14, 2018 by Steamport Southport
