Jim’s “out and about with GBRf” thread

Recommended Posts

Sorry about that Jim. I thought they would have told you before you got to Wolverhampton.

Could have been worse though, It was touch and go whether you went via Soho as well or stayed at Oxley all night.

Just a shame I wasn't there to see you pass. Cannock needs waking up a bit and a 56 is just the thing to do it.

At a push I'd have gone to nuneaton, run round in 7 and could have had me back up the wcml from there, problem is other than Rugeley and Stafford there are no north facing junctions heading out of the Birmingham area

Just one from last night, 37611 in Liverpool Lime st

You can see the work that's going on to add an extra platform in there, the big 1980s style glass building has been demolished and what was an old platform/siding line next to it has been relaid, didn't notice if it was attached though, even at 04:00 this morning the place seemed airy and light with what looks like new LED lighting fitted

Found myself waiting at Derby station yesterday and spotted 31452 and 50008 parked up next to platform 6.    The 31 was  in original green without crests and looking about ready for a repaint while the 50 was looking good in br blue.   Unfortunately someone didn't have his camera with him.

Regards, Cliff.

no, not a clue, where did they end up in derby?

Dunno - trying to find out!

They (6392/6397) used to reside at Neville Hill - used as barriers for HST stock working.

RTT shows it as arrived at the RTC.

From the reviews I've seen, the chocolate Orient Express looks a lot better than the film!

There was a picture on Facebook yesterday of what I think was the continental based orient Express stock in one of the Eurostar platforms as part of the same publicity effort.  Presumably this had travelled via HS1.  It would be interesting to know what hauled it.

What a waste of good chocolate. Surely it should be served with cream and moulded into proper locomotives and carriages, then delivered somewhere a little further west.

Yes, the reviews of the film I have seen on here have been pretty scathing. I prefer books for murder mysteries anyway.
