Just for a bit of fun and friendly bantering, myself and some bloke called Robinson  thought that maybe a little "Model off"  - which he can't win of course anyway - might nor be a bad Idea by way of a little light entertainment where you will get the opportunity to see Robinsons futile attempts first hand as my efforts leaved him totaly stunned !  - so, I'll kick it off first and, of course Iain, if it's too much for you then I'll understand and we can close the Thread and both go home early !!

Okay.

My turn.

Is that a kit-bashed Airfix church or am I much mistaken, Allan ?  (no smileys available I'm afraid!!!!).

Best wishes,

Jonte

OK Allan, I have to confess that I have only ever made one church model, and that was in 2mm scale...that's right, no giant card models of Chartres or St Pauls! It was about 20 years ago and I will try and dig it out. In the meantime, since you have won round one, how about this, a model of a mill:

Mill and Boiler House (800x601).jpg

Low view of canopy (800x587).jpg

Well, it's tall. like a church! Cue 400 incredible mill buildings from Downes...

cheers,

Iain

Here's the little 2mm scale church model that I made for my dear late friend Harry Rutter of Dyserth. The background is the view from my old house in scotland and I think this was taken in about 1979!

That mill is lovely, Allan. The church just seems to sit perfectly in the landscape, too. Brilliant.

Well, here are a couple of shots of a  water powered mill, apologies as some of these shots have appeared on my blog before.

This was a freelance structure, built with das scribed walls, but using the Wills sluice mechanisms which are excellent. I'm just playing catch-up here, as Allan has another 8 mills up his sleeve...

Hi Peter.

You've been invited as a guest, if only to help Robinson out in his hour of need !

Cheers.

Allan.

Sassenach, is it? Right!

I've had a pep talk from the trainer and a swipe with the miracle sponge...it's time to get up and slug it out again!

Here are a few images of a 4mm model I made for a customer of Princes Risborough...
