Our new 7mm Scale Narrow Gauge kit for Ffestiniog Railway Double Fairlie `Merddin Emrys' will be launched at the 7mm NGA Convention on Saturday 8th June.

 

 

All the etching is in Nickel Silver apart from the bits that should be brass on the real thing. All the castings are brass castings with many of them having been originated as 3D models and printed instead of hand made patterns. The kit can be built for 16.5mm or 14mm gauges. It includes the correct pattern wheels, motors and gearboxes. Name, patent and works plates are also included.

 

In assembly getting the cab square is fundamental to the rest of it going together so we include an assembly jig to help with this.

All axles are sprung and each bogie is powered by a Mashima 1624 motor

 

The model is Merddin Emrys as it is now complete with the ludicrous number of mechanical lubricators each bogie is fitted with. The pilot model is inaccurate in one respect only, and that is optional. The model has the greedy boards fitted to the bunkers which were there when we were burning Russian coal. Now we're on Welsh Steam coal we don't need to carry as much and over filling just turns it to dust so they were removed.

The model will be on sale strictly over the counter, first come first served, at the 7mm Narrow Gauge Association Convention on Saturday (see exhibition guide for details). Any of the first batch that are left will be for sale via our website http://www.ngtrains.com sometime on Monday the 10th. Should they all sell (there are 20 in the first batch) on the Saturday the website will take reservations for the models from the second batch likely to be available in September.

This only applies to the ones sold at the convention, mail order ones have been corrected before sending them out..

 

I know how many were sold, I know who most of them were sold to but there are a couple I don't have contact details for and I'd like to get the bits to them before they notice they're missing. One of those infuriating moments when, after last weeks fraught preparations for the convention, you have a tidy up and find twenty packets of small parts in the debris that should have been in the kits.
