It’s here! The all-new BRM. Here's what's in the 164-page, new-look November BRM.

The Digital Edition goes on-sale later this afternoon (Friday, October 4th) and the printed edition will be in shops on Thursday, October 10th.

As something new, we'll be locking this topic and starting a new topic early next week where we'll be inviting you to ask questions to the layout owners/authors of various articles within this issue. For the first time, you'll get the chance to easily interact with a number of the people that appear in the magazine.

5 Great Layouts!

We have a selection of top-quality layout modelling, coupled with the very finest layout photography. Inside this issue you’ll find:

  • Summat Colliery (OO) – Ian Mellors’ colliery layout
  • Marston & Atherby (OO) – an Edwardian-era layout, including a mass of scratch-built buildings
  • Woolacombe – a stunning narrow gauge creation in 7/8” scale
  • Tickhill & Wadworth (EM) – Tony Gee’s layout which features a long-gone station from his childhood
  • Poulton Le Fylde (OO) – an interesting and unusual prototype for this exhibition layout

Practical BRM

The new-look BRM is awash with inspirational yet accessible practical modelling articles. Here’s what is inside this issue:

  • Build a coal wagon – new BRM writer Phil Parker shows just how easy it is to construct a Parkside  Dundas wagon kit
  • Scratch build from take-aways – the Marston & Atherby layout owner reveals how he makes amazing buildings from the polystyrene found in fast food take-away boxes and pizza bases!
  • Two-hour Challenge – Phil Parker is tasked with building a Wills Coal Yard and Hut in just two hours! Can you?
  • Modifying diecast – Howard Smith gets to grip with a diecast repaint to match a car from his childhood
  • Modelling water – Phil Parker produces a stretch of canal to place the canal boats he made last month
