Tumble Down Cottage

Recommended Posts

I was reading an old article by Allan from the 70's or 80's RM which I had kept about driving into a ditch whilst looking at a barn which he then describes how to build, part of the same article was for a freelance Tumble Down Cottage, so I thought I would have a go at it.

Started with some foamboard and peeled off one side, using an old paintbrush ferrel shaped to size I then marked out and indented the stone, I covered the interior with some random rubble paper ready for paint.

The garden wall is also from foam board, assembled and mounted onto a piece of 2mm card for a base and then threw some paint on it.

Next step is greenery and some more debris and detail.... To be continued....

Very nice, Campaman.  I'm going to need to eat more pizza to get the bases having been inspired by the article in the most recent BRM about using the stuff - I now have too many ideas* & not enough polystyrene!

*To be entirely accurate I also have more ideas than I have either layout or house room at the moment, but in the absence of being able to play with my trains I like to build things for when I get a chance.

Thanks, I don't always get mags so have not seen that article. I have been on the lookout for some of the foam similar to the trays that they put the chips on at chippies, as I have heard that can be embossed.

Maybe have a walk down the town centre early Saturday morning before the street cleaners have been to work, as I am to tight to pay for a tray of chips.
