kitefighter
Hello, I recently push fitted a couple of N°18 Kadee couplers to a Bachmann Class 55, and don't think they look quite right for a British locomotive. So I tried to remove one of them (leaving the other end for towing) but cannot access the ends which need to be pinched together to release them. The end of the NEM socket I need to reach is buried within the bogie. Is there a short cut or proper way to go about removing a coupler from a Bachmann Class 55 that doesn't involve stripping down the bogie?
csvt2004
Well I have never pinched the ends together when removing. Just a firm pull should release the coupling. Hold the loco upside down, grip the bogie with one hand and use finger and thumb of other hand to pull. Never known that to fail.

I'm always afraid to use too much force, but your technique worked!
