RMweb Premium GraemeWatson Posted January 16, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 16, 2014 Dear all, I have tried in vain to switch off (i.e. reduce volume to zero) the "famously delayed" air brake release sound of the Bachmann sound Class 25 (32-330DS). Normally brake squeal is eliminated by CV 32 >1, then CV 459 ("brake sound") >0. "Brake Set/Brake release" (which I imagine should be the CV I am after) is served by CV 355. When I have tried to "zero" either of these CVs, no reduction in sound occurs in either brake squeal or air brake release. These CV values are taken from the loksound V4 manual, page70, and are echoed in the Southwest Digital sound allocation document HERE I am using a Hornby Elite controller. I have tried both direct and operate mode. Has anyone worked out how to do this, particularly as I wonder if the factory-fitted decoders use slightly different addresses to the standard SWD loksound V4 products, which I seem to have no problems with. >I am aware that a re-blow would fix this alltogether, though I am curious what can be achieved in the more immediate term. Many thanks

RMweb Premium GraemeWatson Posted January 20, 2014 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted January 20, 2014 the other topic says to set cv2 to 0 Tried that; although it is better when set to 0, I still wonder if it is possible on these factory fitted Loksound v4s to dial down the volume of air brakes and brake squeal, in the way that you can with say, the standard over-the-counter SWD Loksound v4s. It would appear you can't on the factory fitted Loksound v4s, it is as if they don't follow the same CV programming pattern as the normal SWD products
