blueeighties
Good afternoon all. I have just fitted a Bacchy class 20,00 gauge sound fitted version, with headcode box, cab interior, and tail lamps. On firing up, can't get any of the lights to work. I swapped the chip for a standard Bachmann 21 pin non sound....everything works perfectly. Has anyone done one of these? My only thought is that as the 20 is not manufactured with lights, the manufacturer has chosen to disable the functions on the chip? Any ideas appreciated. Regards, Lee. cassey jones
There are no lights fitted to the 20.
blueeighties
Yes I know, that's why I have just fitted a set??
Waverley West
Seems unlikely that they'd bother disabling the lights, Lee. I've managed to fit lights on mine but I used an SWD sound chip, so that doesn't help you much I guess. Have you checked and re-checked the wiring? Stupid question I know, but you never know! RMweb Gold RedgateModels Posted January 18, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 18, 2014 What sound chip, Loksound or Zimo?
blueeighties
hi. I have double checked the wiring, and as I said, I also tried a standard non sound 21 pin decoder, which works perfectly. The chip fitted is a standard Bachmann jobbie, presume its an ESU v4? I have since got the lights working, by setting them up on functions f7 and f8, but obviously they remain manually switchable, and will not work automatically depending on the locos direction of travel. I have all of the settings, cv's etc on screen via decoder pro, and can't see anything out of the ordinary compared to other chips I have installed. It's as though f0 is 'switched off', it does nothing to the light operation at all.
blueeighties
Stop press......sometimes I miss the blindingly obvious. A factory reset has us back to normal. If in doubt do the obvious instead of scratching ones head for 2 hours
