A useful look at some other subjects?

Just to compare notes with a few of the modellers and diorama builders that spend their time away from the rails.

I know these don't fit into the challenge rules, but have a quick scroll down anyway.

Natural habitats.

The foreground is at full size, to represent the animals, but the depth illusion behind is great.

It is more than a foot deep, but still a good illusion.

Good presentation, the viewing window is appropriate to the content within.

For a railway diorama, I thought of doing a view out of a compartment, with layers representing the depth contained in a light box behind.

It could be used for different scenes, make more than one diorama with the same window.

If anyone has a favourite depth illusion, old or new, then put up a pic!   Cheers Paul

I love the first two, do you know the scale? The volcano and mars surface are also exceptional.

I love trying to fit diorama details into our layout

This is 00 with models from several suppliers...The trees are homemade......Perhaps lacking the depth of some of the clever work you have shown

Really nice Jaz, that is a scene that describes the layout name perfectly.

The Natural habitat dioramas are museum exhibits, so they start at 1 to 1 size in the foreground, then the scale itself changes gradually & becomes progressively smaller as you look towards the furthest distance.

Lovely work..........Paul
