Yard Crane

I'm looking for a GWR 6/10 ton yard crane if anyone knows of one lurking at a back of a shop please let me know.

Have you considered a mobile one?  This Ransom Rapier 6 ton, yet to be finished, is from Langley Models.

The GWR had several travelling cranes to deal with such eventualities, when the receiving goods yard didn't have the equipment. Cambrian do an excellent kit for one, which might solve your problem.

Has anyone had the pleasure of building this crane your opinion is required on build finish.

Just finished the n gauge one for my layout - Tintern.

 

Fiddly in 'n' but I am pleased with the result. Will post a couple of piccies when I get the chance.

I'm sure it'd be easier in 00

The photos just illustrate how much work remains to be done but I think the crane catches the essence of a Tintern. As I say, I expect the 00 gauge one would be an easier assembly - but I rather enjoyed putting the n gauge one together.

You have got me thinking now Matt it's the style I want, I'll bite the buscuit and get one.

 

Btw I like the layout not crowded and not cluttered up you have certainly got the balance right.
