Just a quick mention for Modelmaster. I have very recently placed a large order for Bulleid Pacific loco re identification sets. I have just received a call (yes, Saturday) with an apology that one unrebuilt B of B badge is not available; what would I like to happen? Discussion - badge to be substituted for a very close look alike! Thank you MR R, they will be in the post shortly.

That's what I call personal service. Excellent.

Usual non connection other than existing customer etc.

Hi all,

Just had a 'phone call from Jim at Modelmaster...

A print problem has resulted in him having to get a replacement print run done on some items.

Some orders are delayed and will be sent out as soon as the replacement items arrive.

Jim also advised that, due to him being involved with the referendum tomorrow and afterwards, he would not be sending orders out until Monday.

So - If you are waiting - please be patient a bit longer!

Thanks

Black Friday Sale.

The sale ends tomorrow at Midnight, and we're offering a 28% discount
on all currently available Modelmaster products, using the discount
code TWENTYEIGHT at checkout.

www.modelmasterdecals.com.

The response over the past two days has exceeded expectations, but
you'll be hearing from us again next week, as we will be introducing
our new December decal sets and reprints (Royal Mail, six varieties
of LMS loco decals, exquisitely printed GWR loco decals spanning
almost 100 years, etc.)

Of interest to many of you will be the reprinting of many missing
West Country & Battle of Britain badges, including SIR ARCHIBALD
SINCLAIR in eleven colours, also EXETER, YEOVIL, BUDE, EXMOUTH,
BIDEFORD, SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL, ROYAL OBSERVER CORPS, 257 SQUADRON,
and fifteen others.

Silk Screen printing is the the only way to make these badges look
completely realistic, but the printing process calls for each colour
to be printed individually, building up the illustrations over as
many as twelve print runs, with a days drying between each colour!
It took 85 hours to redraw all of the above badges, but the effort
and expenditure have been well worth the effort.

Just recieved an order from Model Master. Had an issue with postage over two orders. Spoken to on phone in polite and curteous way to explain the issues.

Very happy with service and thats from a satisfied loyal customer. Will recommend highly for transfers of steam outline and numberplates.

Just noticed in the latest email from them that their owner is retiring either later this year or early next.

Was sad to read that, modelmaster are my go to for all my nameplates, hopefully this won't be a range that falls by the wayside like so.many others

Yes but their recent emails have also contained details of changes in trading terms and routes to market (see website).  That, a new website and a long run off period, makes me think this is a business being tidied for sale.  I would be hopeful of some continuation.  Otherwise there will be some large "for stock" orders coming in :).  Indeed nothing like the thought of a closure to boost sales.

Extracts from Jim's latest e-mailshot

I've given up all thoughts of retiring - instead I'm going to set up a limited company and hopefully have enough shareholders so that Modelmaster Jackson Evans will survive long after I'm gone.

I love what I do, ........................

................. 99.999% of my customers are great people to deal with, and the other 0.001%, well, I won't mention!

Thank you all for your loyalty in the past, and I hope you all enjoy the future with MODELMASTER JACKSON EVANS
