rob D2
Hi, Just spotted this. Should be very useful for EWS modellers, I wonder if it will be the SSA rebuilt version with strengthened ribs or not ?
rs4
Yes, I saw that too I'd always meant to respray some SSAs into EWS livery. Even though it may be a weathered finish it's gonna need ALOT of mutilation then rusting and weathering again as the real things are truly beaten up. Stated release in 2014.... Mark Saunders
I find it strange that 'Kernow' is producing a plain EWS liveried SSA when there is a Cornish variant for "Henry Orchard" of St Austell! Mark Saunders
chriswild
Emailed kernow about these, doesn't sound like they'll be a revised model, "they will be using the same tooling as previous ews liveried SSA models" pretty sure Bachmann have never done a ews version. As far as I'm aware these wagons were completely re bodied in about 1998. Bit of a missed opportunity I'd say, can't say I'm too keen on £20 a pop just to chop it up and start again. Glorious NSE
The image on the KMRC site linked to above looks very much like it was taken at Bz It was.
rob D2
Seem to have sunk without trace ? I'd like some ssa scrap wagons in ews
RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted February 6, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 6, 2017 Seem to have sunk without trace ? I'd like some ssa scrap wagons in ews It's still alive according to the KMRC website. From the model's code 33-430Z it would appear to be a relivery of the current model and Bachmann only does limited editions as add-ons to a standard production run. There are still two standard models on sale 33-436 and 33-437, which I don't think are recent releases, so perhaps still waiting for another production run. RMweb Premium brushman47544 Posted January 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 15, 2018 A new SSA 33-435C has been announced by Bachmann for the 2018 range , so perhaps this limited edition will now be able to go ahead.

I doubt it, I think they’ve quietly dropped this as they’ve realised they need a retool with the enhanced metal sections EWS rebuilt these things with. The body of that one they are bringing out is incorrect for EWs
No Decorum
I’m sure Bachmann would not drop a model just after announcing it.
Mark Saunders
I’m sure Bachmann would not drop a model just after announcing it. Have Bachmann ever announced a rebodied/rebuilt SSA as the closest I have ever seen is the picture of the Kernow one that shows one of these rebuilt ones! rob D2
I’m sure Bachmann would not drop a model just after announcing it. You misunderstand . Bachmanns model is not the right body for the kernow ltd edition. Bachmann will make their standard one, I doubt we’ll ever see the kernow one because it will be wrong . Have Bachmann ever announced a rebodied/rebuilt SSA as the closest I have ever seen is the picture of the Kernow one that shows one of these rebuilt ones! Mark Saunders Nope they haven’t. Despite the fact it’ll be in the he right colours, I couldnt overlook the glaring errors

Despite the fact it’ll be in the he right colours, I couldnt overlook the glaring errors It all depends on which one they produce as the Transrail one was repainted at Thornaby into EWS and several of the ones in the Methill slurry flow were repainted into EWS but I never discovered which ones as I only saw them from a distance!
