Tim H
From Wikipedia "After the 1938 invasion of Czechoslovakia by Nazi Germany, Tatras continued in production, largely because Germans liked the cars. Many German officers met their deaths driving heavy, rear-engined Tatras faster around corners than they could handle. At the time, as an anecdote, Tatra became known as the 'Czech Secret Weapon' for the scores of officers who died behind the wheel; at one point official orders were issued forbidding German officers from driving Tatras.[1][9]"
Steadfast
That Walmart song is fantastic. It's so true as well. RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted August 30, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted August 30, 2014 Nothing! A place to post random curiosities; love the track and it sits great with this old promo. The joke is Tatra's were notorious for their awful road holding, having a 3.5 litre V8 hanging out the back of what is effectively a larger version of the VW beetle chassis. Hitler even banned his senior officers from driving them because of so many fatal accidents, Czechoslovakia's secret weapon against the Nazis. 34theletterbetweenB&D
That film is just bizarre in the extreme!... Not half as bizarre as the car. One of my uncles had one, and we kids loved it. The racket! The exhaust pipe out of the roof! The heat in the back on a summers day! The fumes in the back! I haven't felt the same since in any other car...
