It is not being sentimental to dismiss the amounts of money that are outstanding as unimportant; instead, it is merely being sensitive. An entirely appropriate response to tragic circumstances such as these. As far as any monies owed to me I only hope it gets added up with the rest and helps, in some small way, to ease the burden on the poor man's family.
