johnarcher
A question please to any 3mm finescale people out there. Does the society (or anyone else) do an 8mm finescale wheel, either spoked, or disc with a separate tyre that might go on a different centre? I want this for 00n3, P4 standards. I can't find a true P4 wheel that small, but I think 3mm FS standards would be close enough to work. Obviously I would have to join the Society to buy any if they do them, I'd be happy to, but would rather not pay to join only to find out there isn't one. So I would be grateful if someone who is a 3mm Society member could just quickly check their catalogue and let me know. Thank you
Branwell
The 2mm Scale Association do an 8mm spoked driving whelel, but it's on a stub axle because of the usual split frame chassis arrangement. Not sure if that would be any good for you?
johnarcher
Thank you for the suggestion, but as that is basically a 4ft tender wheel or loco wheel I would think it would have too many and too thin spokes? Also 2mm FS tread width is a bit narrow for 4mm, as well as the axle you mention. So I did hope there may be something 3mm. But thanks anyway. MartinWales
Have you tried Finney & Smith or 3 SMR? Also worth joining the 3mm Society too!
johnarcher
Unfortunately Finney and Smith seem to closing down, and 3smr don't have finescale wheels of that size. I would definitely join the 3mm society if they have an 8mm FS wheel, I just hoped someone might check their list for me to see if they do, before I pay to join and find that they don't. MartinWales
Certainly worth joining the 3 mm Society even if they don't supply a wheel, given the wide range of stuff that they do finance-including the 14.2mm track base and rail, which I have in stock for a future project. Although called 'finescale' and for 14.2mm they are not actually to 3mm Soc. FS standards - they are much the same as the EM standard wheels Alan Gibson does for 00n3 anyway. (I asked 3SMR). Thanks again for taking the trouble though.
