ben pez
Bit of a black wash Just needs the road surface/grass edges, then the white square marker painted on one side for the signal, then its finally finished.
RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted February 22, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 22, 2015 (edited) Keep posting the photos and updates, Ben. What I don't understand is why more people aren't looking at this thread. Jeff Edit: I've mentioned this in the KL2 thread, so hopefully it'll stir things up a bit! RMweb Gold unravelled Posted February 24, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 24, 2015 (edited) That location tkes me back! Here are a few pictures around the summit, from August 1965. I hope they are some interest. Thanks Dave Edited February 24, 2015 by unravelled
ben pez
Superb old photos there dave Many thanks for sharing. Wonder why the summit sign, either side of the tracks has been replaced with a more newer one? Simply because it was looking old & weathered? RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted February 25, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 25, 2015 It may have "disappeared".
ben pez
"Disappeared" meaning its hung up on someones dining room wall!
RMweb Gold Joseph_Pestell Posted February 25, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 25, 2015 "Disappeared" meaning its hung up on someones dining room wall! Only speculating. I don't have any definite info to that effect.

RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted February 27, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 27, 2015 Nice job with that, Ben. Stick it on the layout and let's see how it blends in. Jeff
ben pez
Cheers jeff Cant really put it on the layout as such,as ive got to do a bit more ballasting first where the bridge is going to be placed, then build the embankment around it. Cheers Ben
ben pez
Bridge planted on the layout & the track around it has now been ballasted. Please ignore the incorrect facing pointwork! I realised my error after the track had been pinned & all wired up. Im not too fussed though as its never going to be an exhibition layout. Next job is building the embankment along towards the bridge. Some pics
RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted March 7, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 7, 2015 That's going to fit in very well, Ben. And the deep ballasting looks nice viewed from the low angle. Good work (who cares about a mere facing point? ). Jeff
ben pez
Ha ha ha! Im no expert on prototype trackwork as you can tell. Cheers Ben
Adrock
This looks a fantastic layout Ben - you've really captured the atmosphere of the line. I'm looking forward to watching it develop! Cheers, Adam
ben pez
Cheers adam Havent done much recently up in the loft with being busy with work & a eight month old to look after! Next job is to build up the embankment around the brick bridge at the summit. Cheers Ben

RMweb Premium Physicsman Posted June 13, 2015 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 13, 2015 Ben, that is looking very nice indeed. As Scott said, you can spend hours photographing your Black 5s/9Fs going up and down the straight. Having spent about 70 hours building the walling for KL - all duly scrapped due to the move - did you make your walling? Jeff
