RMweb Premium DLT Posted February 9, 2010 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 9, 2010 In case anybody hasnt found it, there is a very useful online index for Model Railway Journal at http://www.modelrailwayjournal.com/ In can be searched in various ways, by keyword, author, or by issue number. The "view all issues" command brings up a page with a thumbnail picture of every issue. Clicking on an issue takes you to the contents list. "View all authors" brings up an alphabetical list, along with the number of articles they have written. Tim Shackleton is way ahead with 76 to his name. Very Useful. RMweb Gold beast66606 Posted November 29, 2010 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 29, 2010 It's still a valid domain, until July 2011, maybe they've tried an update and "stuffed it" (technical term)

Grovenor
There seems to be a problem with the server, it is not (always) finding the index page if you just use the domain name, http://www.modelrailwayjournal.com/index.php finds it. RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted June 16, 2012 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 16, 2012 I see that the MRJ & GWJ indexes now have a new owner. Hawk
I see that the MRJ & GWJ indexes now have a new owner. Congratulations to Chris Baker on taking over these valuable resources. http://www.modelrailwayjournal.com/ http://www.gwrjournal.com/ Kevin Martin I am glad to see that this very valuable index is beeing continued! I can not remember that this index has been mentioned in MRJ. I would think that most MRJ readers have access to the wild, wild, web, even if the Wild Swan has not flewn across it yet. Jon Gwinnett
Exchanged emails with the new guardian, like rmweb of old, the site needs a small sum each year to maintain. I've chipped in a few quid, seems cheap at the price.

martinT
Loss like both domains are down for quite a while now.... C,-w Has anyone any news about these 2 Indices? It would be a great shame if their disappearance was permanent. The link to the MRJ one still appears at the bottom of the MRJ page of the Titfield Bookshop website. Flymo748
Has anyone any news about these 2 Indices? It would be a great shame if their disappearance was permanent. The link to the MRJ one still appears at the bottom of the MRJ page of the Titfield Bookshop website. Martin I'm pleased to be able to report that the person that owns the domains and maintains the content has posted this update on the Scalefour Society Forum: "Apologies - I've been fighting with the current hosting provider and am in the process of moving all the index sites (MRJ, GWRJ and BRJ) to a different provider." So it appears that there is no risk of a permanent loss of this valuable resource, and I personally wish him every success in dealing with internet companies. If I receive news that the sites are back up and running, I'll post it here. Cheers Paul Willis Scalefour Society Deputy Chairman Paul

backofanenvelope
Glad to see it coming back as I used to use it to see which mags I could get back issues for. Its the only mag I have kept over the years and still go back and reread them unlike a pile I recently took to local tip as no one wanted them. Ian Smith
Not exactly an index, but the following site has a list of MRJ's and you can see the contents of each issue : http://britishrailwaybooks.co.uk/magazine/modelrailwayjournal.php Ian
