Just a heads up for some new products available from next week, namely ---- Vacuum cylinders for wagons and coaches. The cylinders come with the separate lever and a mounting washer which fixes between the floor and the cylinder and can be fixed to have the cylinder vertical or slightly canted.

Excuse the very cruel enlargements but you get the picture.

Oh, and I almost forgot..... three new coupling rod sets are at the etchers and expected on Tuesday. Ivatt & BR 2MT, WD 2-8-0, LMS 8F.

Lanarkshire Models will be at Scalefour North with a small sales stand and hopefully may even have some new (L)NER bufferstops available.
Items will be on the website when available.

All the best,
Dave Franks

Had an email looking for confirmation that the new items are for 4mm/OO scale, yes they are, sorry I seem to only think in 4mm scale despite doing 7mm castings for kit manufacturers.....

Just cast yesterday before a fault occurred in the mould which may hinder production of the latest bufferstop until another mould is made.... Buxxer.

Needless to say I'll be having scores of the vac cylinders, but just to prove I'm never satisfied, will you doing the DAV as well Dave?

Mike.

Would that be the big double acting one then, if you have a photo and dimensions I'll think about it.

Look good, any chance of shrinking these and the other buffer stops down to N / 2mm as there is a acute shotage of such.

All the new NER cast iron stops sold out at Scalefour North, must have a few days off now but I'll be casting more at the end of the week so don't worry.

A very knackered Dave F.

And very nice they are too, not built mine yet but they'll be on the layout soon...

Just a thank you for the quick delivery. I like the box they came in too, reminded me of getting wargaming figures long ago. The buffer stops won't be on the layout as quick as Paul's some point work to build first.

  • 3 months later...

Just finished the master for Bufferstop No 17.  What is it?    Well, the North East lads will be smiling again as it's another one that was suggested by a few of them. BS17 is the early NER standard that had most of its structure underground as opposed to the later type (BS15) which was a surface type. BS17 fits between the Cast iron one, BS16 and the surface one BS15, if not in number then at least in period.

A Standard LNER type is being worked on as well as other LNER group types and I hope to have one or two more out for EXPO EM at Manchester.

If you're really good I may post a picture tonight.

That's more like it. At last these two gadgees can relax safe in the knowledge that the gunpowder van isn't going to derail off the end of the layout and explode blowing them back into the melting pot.
