  1. Hi VanBasher, We have around 14 trade stands attending, many of whom sell new/nearly new or second hand Locos and stock in all scales and gauges. Our own club members stand will be selling its usual array of members stock, who are either switching scales or downsizing their collection. Regarding the Bus timetable, have you tried the club website recently? It should be on there to view for everyone. As Exhibition Manager I look forward to welcoming you to our show. cheers Andy

  3. Cheese and Bacon Oatcakes 🤪😛........just keep that Dave Wheelton away from the cafeteria until I've managed to put me order in........... Looking forward to supporting this very worthy cause by displaying some of my 'Glasgow Queen Street (EM)' stock that have already been completed for the layout which is still very much under construction - however, evidence of wiring is now making itself seen underneath the boards, so it is progressing!! cheers Andy
  4. Many thanks for all your replies guys - very useful that. cheers Andy
  5. Hello all. I'm throwing this out to the extremely knowledgeable guys and girls out there. I'm after individual running numbers, for any MK3 sleepers that were painted up in the NEW Caledonian livery ( as worn by the Mk5's ) before they were taken off the service and replaced by the MK5's. Thank you all in advance cheers Andy

*** PLEASE NOTE*** - WE ARE MOVING ONE MONTH INTO APRIL!!!!!! Macclesfield Model Railway Group's 2024 Exhibition will be held over the weekend of: Saturday 20th APRIL and Sunday 21st APRIL 2024 Further details of Exhibitors and Traders will appear here in due course, but for now, please make a note that we are moving the Exhibition one month to 20th and 21st APRIL 2024 This is primarily down to Easter being early in 2024, but also to continue the long tradition of etiquette amongst Exhibition Managers and therefore trying not to hold our show on the same weekend as anyone else, we're moving from our usual end of March date, one calendar month to April. Cheers for now Andy Exhibition Manager
  7. The first show held in 2022 was brilliant with excellent layouts, this next show should be even better - you won't find a more pleasant place to hold a model railway exhibition than in Buxton's Pavillion Gardens. Looking forward to it. cheers Andy

We will also be having ( weather permitting ) a selection of vintage cars on display in the car park directly outside the exhibition entrance. Also in attendance will be a vintage Fire Engine to admire. Help celebrate both our 50th Exhibition and the "coming of age" (At 21) of the renowned P4 North Wales Diesel layout, 'MOSTYN'. This famous and celebrated layout has not been seen in the North of England for approximately 7 years, so Macclesfield Model Railway Group are extremely proud to have the Barrowmore group in atendance to help celebrate Mostyn's birthday. There will be the usual wide range of quality exhibits, well supported by a wide variety of traders. 9. Hello all. Apologies in advance if I'm posting in the wrong place, but after having a look around this Parish, I couldnt really find anywhere else suitable. So in essence, I'm after asking the knowledgable folk on here, where I can get hold of various detailing bits for 2mm Diesel Locos. I know Shawplan and one or two others do a very limited of 2mm stuff, but I'm after things like Screw Link couplings, ETH bufferbeam and nose end fittings for 47's etc etc and any other detailing bits I can avail myself with. Many thanks in advance Andy
  10. Just a little bit of useful info for those driving to the exhibition this weekend. There's loads and loads of free roadside parking, hidden a just a short walk from the venue. Situated in the back streets on the opposite side of the A53 St John's Road - ( which runs along the rear of the venue ) - is Park Road. It's a long and wide circular type avenue, with loads of space and you can access it either from the Whaley Bridge Road or from St John's Road. Once you've parked up, at the bottom end of Park Road ( Directly opposite Heathfield Gardens ), is what's now a short and cut off bit of Park Road, that doubles as a footpath. If you walk down this little piece of terminated road, you will find yourself directly opposite the corner of the park entrance to the Pavillion, on St John's Road - so it's absolutely ideal, with no restrictions on time and won't cost you a penny in parking. I always park there when I go to the toy fairs in the Pavilion Gardens and have never had any problems finding a space. It is literally just a few minutes walk from where you park up, to getting into the exhibition venue. It's one of those hidden little gems, that's well worth sharing! So I hope to see you all there, as I'm abusing more plastic for the weekend and demonstrating more EM Gauge modelling for our forthcoming 4mm Exhibition layout 'Glasgow Queen St'. Come and sit down for a chat and find out how the layout and stock is progressing. Cheers Andy

  12. Absolutely superb venue this and I'm very much looking forward to exhibiting there with my demo stand. Come and say hello if you're coming along - looks like a very good selection of layouts and traders attending. cheers Andy
  13. We are now just a few weeks away from the Macclesfield exhibition. If I say so myself, there are some beautiful examples of modelling that will be on show. Attached is a photo of Gary Hinson's magnificent 'Blackbrook Halt'. I will attach further taster photos of other layouts attending over the next few weeks. cheers Andy
  14. I would just like to add, that the Macclesfield Club's shop has recently taken control of a very, VERY large collection of 4mm Stock. The vast majority of this stock has never even been out of its box, never mind run. As it is classed as second hand though, we are going to be selling this collection off at EXTREMELY good prices! We have a plethora of 4mm Steam Locos ( Bachmann, Hornby etc etc ), Diesel Locos ( Bachmann, Hornby, Dapol, Heljan ), Coaches and Wagons that you just have to see to believe - spanning the eras of between 1960's to the 1990's. Its worth the admission fee alone to be able to see this collection ( which wouldnt disgrace a fair size Model Shop - and I am not joking ) If you want to bag a bargain, you'll need to get in there as we're kind of expecting something similar to the Bachmann Seconds Scrum on the morning of each day at Warley - seriously, there's that much of it to be had. We dont know yet if we'll have enough room for it all at the show, but the full collection can be seen in the Catalogue that Mike, our Club Shop proprietor, has put together and will be available to be perused over at our Clubrooms. If anyone wants to come up to our clubrooms at any point to see this catalogue, just let us know before hand to ensure there's a copy for you to look at. cheers Andy
