  1. Well my money is staying in my pocket... shame too as this had some potential, lets hope Bachmann step in and do a CIG and then shame them.
  2. 50024 Vanguard a week before the end with the oversized NSE badges on the headcode box.
  3. Deltic's and 50'S I do remember a post card pack from Dawlish with a pic of a deltic and Vac combo at the Cross, also 1999 the fox killer train to Bournemouth on the Sunday for a march againt the then Labour party who were in town for their conference, This was worked by 50017 and D9009 from Wolverhampton to Bournemouth and back with an ECS to Weymouth. not only that they rubbed shoulders around York and Doncaster when Donny did the main overhauls on the Vacs.
  4. I wasn't referring to any ones photo but the Computer Generated Image of the set showing the motor at the wrong end of the van coach... I expect this will be different to that in that CGI picture? unless they decided to place it there due reasons Hornby only see fit? as I said before the CGI pics that are in Hattons and the Hornby Web-sites are not those of the finished product.
  5. I think the comment about the motor in the 'CGI pictures' show it in the passenger area is a mistake and the product will surely be in the van? I expect that was not spotted as the seating wasn't in the model when the picture taken and altered? Remember nearly all Hornby CGI shots are different from the finished product. Wait and see as per usual if not then I'll wait until they get it right....
  6. I have a pullman set with a double loop and it's been down on the floor after serious hoovering and then some more hoovering took place ...the lights in the dark are hellfire B) It's a case of room and time but they do get an airing now and again... Laz
  7. At an average price of £60 that will be £960 then...or call it £900 for cash???????
  8. No 35 isn't main line but never say never... So your dropping OO for N?
  9. I saw that part of the programme and the people they interviewed were all NIMBY's The girl tried to put the pro side over but they didn't want to listen. most of the track will be in cuttings and tunnels or sound boards to cut down on the noise...plus it's not going to be as wide as a motorway with a minimum of 8 lanes of road. Personally with the job losses in the RAF later this year and the current Tory government cuts...I said cuts.. I can't see this ever getting started, unless Labour return to 10 downing street!
  10. Agreed the Newquay line is busy through out the summer months for the surfing and all the students go there if they can't afford to go to Ibiza! Bude and Launceston is just a proposal at this stage? I can't see it going to far though
  11. The Alliance are just trying to drum up more trade and possiblly some shares sales, at the end of the day I don't care as long as they are out on the main line. Back to the 4mm versions, I do remember a retailer saying that a sales sheet had 50001 Deadnought listed but no livery advice. Back to 18 the pluging of the window and making into 44 preserved is the only option for that model? unless you scrap it for spares? Larry
  12. Yes indeed I forgot that... 18 is a complete clusterfudge (Keeping it Clean), one of those grills from 33 for the other window would be good to covert to preserved 50044. Either as it was in 1994 or green from 2001 and soon this year when it's back in blue.
  13. All except 50013 Agincourt and 50027 Lion due to the window mistakes, I wouldn't have bought 18 if I knew it had the same mistake, But it was the first of the 3 sold.
  14. No worries Vac Basher.... Cheers for those. As for chassis Charlie, all ok for me, all mine are stored standing as they would on the line and not led down. 18,45,35,02 and 31 all OK they are the earliest. However I live in rented accommodation with little heating and they are cold, but there is no sign of body damage and the metal chassis is still shiny with none of the white crusty bit's that I have seen on those damaged ones that were posted on here before. I don't know if it's because I haven't had the bodies off much or if it's due to re-painting or if lying them down causes it? it's just down to luck. anyway 16 boxes
  15. Vac Basher, yeah no problem I think I have those do you have the cropped ones with D421? No worries if you don't. Charlie, NSE in order of release: 50045 Achilles, was short lived in traffic the model has light grey sole bar but it's not to bad could be just faded 50002 Superb, pretty good for the last 2 years in traffic some complain of the weathering but I have seen it that bad 50027 Lion, looks to light in photos but OK in the flesh so to speak the biggest problem a window where there should be a grill! 50048 Dauntless, in original NSE and one of the Doncaster 4 paint jobs not the 9 odd in standard livery (White cab door windows), However this has many mistakes one is the grey and red base stripes are too thin and not in the correct position also the cab front windows shows that they are wrong with all that white paint. All of them have over sized numbers. But 50002 is the best of the bunch. shame that Hornby doesn't attempt this without weathering? But as you can see previously NSE Daz has managed to make good with a renumber and cleaning cloth. Larry
