      Thanks everyone :)

  2. is moving house soon, so the layout will have to come down. Sigh... Oh well, it was a learning experience. And the next one... if there is one at my new home will be better.

  3. Blast. How can I justify a OO layout and where can I put it? Really really want two of these. Time to clear out the spare room, methinks!
  4. Makes me wish I was modelling in OO
  5. Can I add a vote for heavy industrial buildings? And heavy industrial... not buildings - silos, tanks, blast furnaces, that kind of thing - equipment, that's the word.
  6. Let's see... according to the book it was drawn up in 1945. What was it for well, lighter axle loading would have made it more widely available, and the outside cylinders would have eased maintenance. Other than that...
  7. Oh, just as an aside, I've finally got some plasticard, so I'll be making a start on the body for the Garratt over the next week or so.
  8. As you can see, Britannia boiler, Jubilee chassis, V2 trailing bogie. Before I can round off the boiler I need to solder a wire so that the electrical pickup on the loco works. Once I've done that, I can use filler to round it off. It's fairly close coupled with the tender at least
  9. Oh well, It' still very much a work in progress, but here's a look at the pacific version of the jubilee that I'm cobbling together in N. As you can see it's a Britannia boiler on top of a Jubilee chassis with a V2 trailing bogie. Before I try and do something about the gap under the boiler I need to solder a wire so that the electrical pickup works
  10. Can't remember where I found it, and if its a copyright violation, then please feel free to delete it.
  11. That's really helpful and useful. I've been thinking about doing one in N gauge for some time now. Well, doing two of them in N just to annoy the purists Your pictures are more helpful than the diagrams I've got.
  12. At the risk of this being another 'me too' type post, I have to say that that's looking really good.
  13. Well, I've finally got some modelling done. Not much admittedly, but I've nearly finished a row of 8 small terraced houses. Which is nice. The depressing thing is that I'd got the bits printed and cut out a while back, and I lost some bits. But yes... Something is happening again. Also, I've extended the running boards on the pacific Jubilee and filled in the rear splashers. I need to solder the wire the connects the wheels - or one side of the wheels anyway as it's come off. And then, when that's done, I can finally unite body and chassis and apply the last filler to round off the bottom of the boiler. So... Yes. Things are moving again. Just not sure what the next thing to do is...
  14. I've been following this thread with interest. I have to say that's a good looking coach. The Ultima coach kits are really rather nice, and you've done a good job. Well, better than I did.

Hmm... I know this is going to sound perverse, but does anybody know where I could get a set repainted in blood and custard?
