Panic! - will Select drive MERG accessory decoders?

Postby RedgateModels » Fri Oct 09, 2009 7:00 pm

For reasons unknown my Dynamis won't work at the Summit Centre for tomorrow's show  :wall :? :wow :( :(

No signal at all, works fine at home ....

I have a Select, but will it drive the MERG pulsed accessory decoders?
Next project - "missing" BR standard 8 2-8-2 .....

Is the Dynamis problem one of IR reception ? If so, years ago, I got round this with a length of cardboard tube (kitchen roll inner). Put the transmitter and receiver at each end of the tube, and add more cardboard to shield them from the surrounding IR. You loose the mobile handset, but it might still work.

Yeah, it's IR related, no signal at all on the handset. Brought it home and it's fine. There is a PIR motion detector in the room - I hung my fleece over it, no change :?

I'll give the tube thing a go tomorrow, but neeeed a backup plan :what
