Forum Rules
1. Malicious postings
Postings that may be regarded as discriminatory, potentially libellous, damaging or malicious to another party may be removed.
2. Inflammatory postings
Postings that are judged to be intent on causing or perpetuating disagreement may be removed.
3. Goods or services for sale
Whilst it is permissible as a member to advertise goods or services for sale via the classified section free of charge it is necessary to wait until you have moved past 30 postings of substance on this forum. Postings on previous versions of RMWeb will not apply. Joining the forum to solicit trade will lead to removal of the posting and possibly membership of the forum.
Commercial postings and links
Aside from classified advertising that meets the defined criteria, postings and links of a commercial nature are only permissible with the express consent of the administration and/or moderating team.
4. Criticism
If it is necessary to criticise an organisation or products this should be substantiated and constructive. We also ask that any criticism is appropriately presented and in a manner that the intended recipient can be in a frame of mind to listen to such criticisms and respond accordingly if possible. Ultimately, the responsibility for such appropriate presentation lies with the originating member; here the forum Admin will help if requested but will not allow material to remain which may be detrimental to its standing within the hobby.
Where specific transactions are concerned, it is strongly advised that you discuss such matters with the organisation concerned directly in advance of the posting.
5. Inappropriate content
Postings that contain inappropriate, (for example including but not limited to obscene, racist, sexist or blasphemous) language or content, or links to sites with equally inappropriate content may lead to the removal of the posting.
6. Protection of identity
Any attempt to discover, discuss or broadcast the identity of a member against their wishes may lead to membership of the forum being withdrawn. This rule applies in particular to the identity of the forum Moderators and will, in their case, be rigidly enforced.
7. New Members.
A one calendar month probationary period will apply to all new members. During this time new members are obliged to comply fully with the rules of the forum although the Moderators for minor indiscretions may grant a certain leeway.
Tips on forum etiquette and behaviour are available in the Forum Guidance Notes
Advice may be obtained from existing forum members, the Moderators or Admin.
During this probationary period new members may not post items for sale in the classified section and are reminded of the 30-post limit that also applies.
8. Interpretation of the rules.
In all cases the ruling of the Moderators will apply and is not subject to question or debate on forum. Any concerns by the Person/s directly involved may be discussed with the Moderator by means of a PM.
All members will have the right of appeal, by e-mail, to the forum administrator.
The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the Administrator(s) / Moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.
If you wish to notify the Moderators of any observed breach of the rules please contact one of them or the administrator via PM (usernames: Mod1, Mod2, Mod3, Mod4 or ANDY Y), alternatively contact the administrator via email at

the matter will be dealt with as soon as practicable.
9. Good Conduct
This is a public forum and membership is open to people of 13 years of age and above. Whilst the above rules define and highlight what will be considered as poor forum conduct all members must take into account the age, wide and diverse interests and ability range of the membership. Other matters reported or observed that may not fall precisely into the above rules will be considered as a 'Good Conduct' issue and judged on the merits and context of the scenario as seen.
10. Moderation & Administration.
Breach of any of the forum rules will be dealt with by the Moderators who may, at their discretion, issue advice, a warning, suspend a member or, in extreme cases, remove a member from the forum.
The administration and Moderation team will consider all breaches of the rules they observe or are brought to their attention by the membership. If it is decided an infringement of the rules has taken place the member or members will be informed via PM in the first instance where possible and what action needs to be taken by the member(s) to rectify the issue. Whilst the alleged breach of rules is considered the Admin & moderation team will optionally temporarily lock a thread to prevent further escalation of a problem.
If required announcements to the general forum will be made and public warnings given
All rule infringements will be judged on the merit and context at the time of the alleged breach or infringement took place
The rules apply to all existing and new members.
11. Forum Members 'Rights'
All forum members have the right to join, and to leave. The "right" of free speech is only that which is modified by legality, civility, and the degree to which it is prescribed and proscribed by the forum owner, and enforced by the Moderators.
12. Copyright
Copyright exists on most items in books, magazines, photographs and electronic media. It is the responsibility of the poster to ensure that placing such items on this forum in no way infringes any such copyright.
If any member notices ANY item which may infringe copyright legislation, please bring it to the attention of the OP or contact any moderator or Andy as soon as possible so that the item can be removed as a matter of urgency.
All rules apply to new and existing members alike, these rules may be varied or added to and found in the forum area here - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=5633 |
