About this blog

Inspired by Newbryford and his infinite skill, I have decided to take up my own yellow paint and crack out some of the spare models to see what I can do.

Update Again

Been a while, eh?   I keep f#%$ing things up, mainly the locos.    I have managed to source another 37 to redo, another LL example to go on my test train, this time 37424 as 558. These two have never worked together apart from on a convoy unfortunately but ho hum.   The NR coaches are doing well, need the C1 restrictions though which is tonight’s job.

Loco Time

I have sourced 2 locos for redos, a 31 and a 37   The 31 is… hm. Not sure about that one  The 37 is going into BR Large Logo as 37403 Isle Of Mull. Being 5 mins away from the NYMR at times has it’s benefits

Project Report

Long time no talk.   I have been getting on, but life has happened so progress has been rather slow.   The EMV is done, save 1 decal. Contemplating the roof mods, but because of the way the Lima Mk2 is held together, it may be very tricky.   The two BFR’s are finished too, pending the precise decals that i don’t want to do   The NMT is slow going, mainly because i can’t find a way to dismantle the Mk2 i have for… something

Keeping on goin

Sorry I haven’t posted in a while.   More projects are now underway, with a mk3 RFM and a mk2 suitable for the NMT I’m modelling acquired.

About Halfway

After completely forgetting about this, the 2 coaches are now yellow save the roof, which will be light grey. Lots of decals ordered from Railtec that may spawn a few other projects.

BFR’s Progressing

The 2 Brake Force Runners (BFR’s) I intend to model are 9516 (for a later project) and 72616 (to go along with the EMV and 2 RTR Hornby coaches). The sacrifices are a rather pricey Bachmann Mk2 Brake and a slightly less pricey Dapol Mk2 FO. They are soaking in IPA to remove the paint, and they should be ready to prime layer today or tomorrow.

The EMV So Far

Attached is a photo or 2 of the EMV. As I am not actually modelling 977983, I have put the coach end ‘EMV’ decals where the numbers would go.   I did manage to c*ck up some of the decals though, hence the lack of the ‘Improving Your Railway’ decal.

For starters

You join me here midway through the first project (an EMV) and starting 2 brake force runners. The EMV uses a Lima Mk2f bodyshell and is midway through being decaled. The Brake Force Runners are having their paint stripped.
