I've painted the wheels and underside of the boiler in a matching green, and am currently varnishing and weathering. The motor is quite weak, and doesn't like starting from cold, so I usually only run it on light trains in the summer.

My very first diesel. When I first got it, I was super impressed by the weight. It seems like nothing now I've held more modern heavier diesel toolings, but at the time it was awesome. Bit of weathering, painted the cab interiors, and I replaced the traction tyre wheels with non tyred versions. Unfortunately, the motor brushes wore out so I need to replace them. Lion Works Collieries no. 1 (Hornby)
This is where it all started- my very first locomotive. As is the case with most of us, my journey in this hobby started with a Hornby train set. I
