Brake Force Runner - Final Model

Brake Force Runner - Cosmetics

Because this model is already in NR livery I did not want to completely smooth the windows and ruin the paintwork with mismatched colours or scuffs from sanding filler so I opted to pop the windows out and paint them in several layers of diluted Phoenix Precision NR Yellow to reduce the amount of brush strokes. Brake Force Runner - Decals

Doing it right this time, I ordered the Structural Gauging Train Decal Set from Railtec and used departmentals.com to find out which number on the sheet was the BFR which ended up being 99666. Using this I gathered references for where the decals needed to go and on which side. On one side I used a steel ruler to scour a small line under the correct window at the height of the current Network Rail text and on each side of the original running number, these would act as references for me to corre

Brake Force Runner - Too Quick And Dirty

The Brake Force Runner has always been one of the more interesting coaches I've seen - a completely smooth Network Rail MK2 so naturally I thought "I want one for my layout".   So getting into this, I bought four coaches from an eBay seller which were R4992, R4995, R4946 and DC 460000 ((I believe originally from class_66_driver) That's a surprise tool that will help us later) given that R4946 is a plain Mk2 I thought it would be perfect to convert so I also bought a stick on shee
