I'm the Tortoise NOT the Hare

Well, After great visions that the blog may help me move thyself.....I have failed.

At least I am putting up an entry. It is unfortunate that I keep forgetting to take pics although there are a couple here now.

Work is progressing on the layout.

I have even managed to put down nearly a packet of DAS Clay....looks like I have done nothing though.

Now I have to pull it up....why you ask.

Dumbo here, had been moving things about and did NOT double check the alignment.

Maiden Newton Goods shed is NOT aligned to the rest of the sidings as such. The line is on a curve. This also throws out the stub siding into the end of the platform for the cattle dock. It should run parallel to the mainlines and not kick back as in this pic. Ho Hum....

I continue...........

I have been working on the road overbridge as well. The first lot of brick supports were Ok, well passable. So i have made new ones in a lot thicker styrene.

The above shows one under construction...I remembered to take a pic :O

Kept making one mistake and when you look at the photo's (noticeable in the pic looking side on of the bridge, I keep putting the bricks on the WRONG side of the supports....namely on the side you don't see....... I only noticed this while resizing to publish here.

And for the hell of it, the branchline terminal station was Bridport and then Westbay. For the purposes of my modellers license I am modelling Tetbury. Trackwork is done. One pic below.

Hopefully, I may be able to update a bit quicker...one consolation I will get there, so long as I don't croak it first!

Smooth flowing trackwork, there. And I'm liking the bridge.

Good luck with keeping on, and sticking around long enough to complete it. I often think that boards like this - while generally a useful place to come for inspiration and knowledge - can be a bit of a downer, when you see what other people are turning out in short order. For me, life has a habit of getting in the way of such things. The central tenet of tiny trains is that it's a use of YOUR time and energy, and should be FUN! (although what constitutes fun is subjective and personal!).

Jan, I wouldn't feel down. It's taken me over 2 1/2 years to get this far.

Now, when you look at what Coachman has been doing AND the rate of knots he has been going.....that , puts me to shame.

In the end it is a hobby so it gets done when it gets done.
