Track almost finished

blog-0321211001370475957.jpgFirstly a thank you to the very helpful comments about the point motor dilemma. Solution is an order of six Cobalt (I know, I spelt it incorrectly before !), is winging its way here right now. I think I will make up a temporary control panel and do the clever stuff in stages just to make sure I am walking before running as although I have a basic understanding of electronics putting it into practice is another matter.

Managed quite a lot today although no picture as was pretty late and dark by the time I gave up and the layout is rather covered in tools and an odd selection of food tins used to weigh the track down while the glues sets. Just a few short sections of track to finish now. Has not gone entirely smoothly though as far too late I realised that I have put the left hand set of points to close to the traverser which is going to make it a bit of a challenge to disguise and I realised that I have not put a feed wire in to the frog of the points. The latter I can sort out but will have to live with the other.

The entire eighteen feet is currently filing the conservatory and a fair chunk of the kitchen so need to get a move on before I get really unpopular. I plan is to just work on one or two sections at a time which I can do in my office with the rest in the cellar but still have not got any further in clearing the junk out - much harder than it sounds!

I did manage to erect it all by myself but is not easy and I think that once it has scenery and buildings on this won't be very wise and will become a two person job.

Will get the track finished tomorrow and will then start to get it all wired up and hopefully there will be some trains moving fairly soon.
