Wait to you see the back drop!
Am amazed (and pretty pleased!), at how that last post seemed to go down and all for a very simple bit of Photo Shopping. Well just wait until you see what I plan to do for the back drop! Oh ! (have just found out you can't say bug ger!). Have just committed myself to something else! I actually have quite a few more unusual features that I want to build into this layout but I did decide not to let on until I have a good idea that they will work so as not to look too foolish. well, I do know my back scene ideas will work but they will need so skill to in PhotoShop to do it. Oh! I have got that! First problem solved. Big problem is being able to afford to do it! I know how I can do such things from my commercial work but someone else is paying then, so have a couple of budget plans in mind. The problem is how well will they work!
Enough mystery for now. What I have been up to is a bit more work on the Dick Kerr chassis and painting a figure. The latter I am very happy with but not the former! Shall put the figure painting in another post but chassis is annoying me now!
My plan was to profile the chassis frames in the little milling machine I bought last year and have hardly used yet. Anyone who has been paying attention will remember that I thought I was getting the hang of it milling out some wooden jigs. Just wait until I start to attack metal. Problem is that the collet chuck thing keeps falling off. Is a Morse Taper fit that is just magically meant to hold in place with a bit of a shove but just doesn't. Neither will a drill chuck. everything looks clean, smooth and bright but just doesn't work. Have tried it oiled, dry and even with PTFE tape but just keeps coming off. Have not contacted Sieg yet as fear this might be expensive but short of that any suggestions would be most welcome.
